Are you crazy about acting? Have a student born to be a star? Want to improve your audition skills? Maybe someone you know needs to get out of their shell and enhance their public speaking in a fun and non-threatening environment? Then Town Hall Arts Center (THAC) has an Educational Program for you!
THAC has two different programs to cover all of your educational needs:
The Actors’ Playground is our in-house theater education program where we offer daytime, after-school, and evening classes for everyone ages four and up! These classes are designed to be welcoming to first-time students and more challenging for experienced actors. We offer performance classes that conclude with a production on the THAC Main Stage, which includes our original performance class for actors with special needs: The Mark Stahlman Memorial Theater and Movement Class. THAC also offers private coaching on Acting, Auditioning, Singing, Dance, Combat, Improv, and many other topics.

Arts on the Move is our outreach program that offers field trips to THAC, as well as traveling shows and workshops that we can bring to your location! These field trips, workshops, and productions are tailored to the needs of your school and your schedule. THAC offers participation plays and seminars on a variety of topics including Auditioning, Improvisation, Playwriting, Stage Combat, and Shakespeare (both for performance and literary analysis). Field trips to THAC include a talk-back with a theater professional and a backstage tour of our facility. We offer an artist-in-residence program where one of our teaching artists will come to your classroom multiple days for anything from teaching a problematic topic, choreographing a dance or fight for your school’s production, or even directing a whole show! If you don’t see the item you need listed here, please contact THAC’s Education Director, Seth Maisel, and we can create a program to fit your needs.
