Mary Louise Lee took a(nother) star-making turn in the Colorado premiere of “RAISIN THE MUSICAL,” delivering a soul-shaking performance that has earned her a Henry Award nomination from the Colorado Theatre Guild.

A Denver native, Mary Louise has toured Korea, Japan, Johnston Island, Honduras, and Panama to sing for American service members. She was also a fan favorite on Season 9 of “America’s Got Talent.” Locally, she is a legend among Colorado theatergoers for her command of the stage in shows such as “Steel Magnolias” at TheatreWorks; Mama Rose in “Gypsy” at Vintage Theatre; Billie Holiday in “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill” at the Tony Award-winning Denver Center for the Performing Arts; and in her Henry Award-winning performance in the title role of “Caroline, or Change” at the Aurora Fox Arts Center.

In THAC’s perfomance of RAISIN THE MUSICAL, Mary Louise led a team of true triple-threats in the powerful retelling of Lorraine Hansberry’s American classic, A Raisin in the Sun. The show ran March 22 – April 14 as part of THAC’s Season 41.
